About

Kristen began her academic career in 2012 as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Georgia State University's Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions, where she led two international study abroad programs and served as Director of Academic Success. Prior to joining Emory, Dr. Holder served as Lead Advanced Practice Provider for the Pediatric Mental Health Institute (PMHI) at Children’s Hospital Colorado and as Co-Director of Psychiatric Mental Health Training at PMHI. She was also Assistant Professor in the University of Colorado School of Medicine and provided psychiatric care in both the outpatient clinic and the eating disorders program at PMHI. In addition to her academic and clinical accomplishments, she currently maintains a private practice focused on treating individuals with depression, anxiety, and eating disorders across the lifespan.

Kristen earned a BA from Wake Forest University, BSN and MSN (FNP and Psych CNS) from Emory University, an MPH from Harvard University, a post-master’s PMHNP certificate from Georgia State University, and a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from Johns Hopkins University. Her scholarly work focuses on eating disorders, particularly outcomes in young adults in the United States.
