The American Academy of Nursing inducted 16 members of the Emory community into its 2025 Class of Fellows. The American Association of Nurse Practitioners inducted two members of the Emory Nursing faculty — Lori Modly and Quyen Phan — as Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Roy L. Simpson of Emory Nursing has been selected for induction into the 2026 Georgia Nursing Hall of Fame by the Georgia Nurses Foundation. 

National Academy of Medicine Award

National Academy of Medicine Award

The National Academy of Medicine awarded Emory Nursing Former Dean Linda McCauley the David Rall Medal.

Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Award

The Emory Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professional Education honors one faculty member in each of Emory’s graduate and professional schools for exceptional teaching.  Susan Brasher was named a 2026 honoree from the School of Nursing.

2026 May Commencement Award Winners

The Silver Bowl Awards were given to Kristen Hall (MN), Alberto Bonilla (BSN), , Murray Johnston (DABSN), and Bailea Rawlings (Perfusion).

The Compassion and Caring Awards were bestowed to Jolene Morales (MN), Leilany Muñoz (BSN), Keenan Day (BSN), and Olivia Wilder (DABSN).

The PhD Dissertation Excellence Award was given to Dr. Christopher Hayden Herring.

Marion Luther Britain Award Winner

Omid Razmpour, graduate Brittain Award recipient, builds support systems for nurses. He immediately applied the knowledge he gained while simultaneously working on his PhD and MBA and is leading the development and deployment of innovative, comprehensive methods to support Emory Healthcare’s workforce analytics and nursing advocacy efforts.

The Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing has established the Linda McCauley Research Excellence Endowment to honor the retired dean’s visionary leadership and lifelong dedication to nursing science. The new fund will strengthen the school’s capacity to advance nursing science, improve health and well-being, and develop new standards in patient care.
