Emory School of Nursing's continuing education offerings are designed to enrich the lives and advance the careers of nurse leaders. There are two continuing education opportunities within the School of Nursing: Emory Nursing Experience and the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Center.

Emory Nursing Experience

Through the Emory Nursing Experience (ENE), you have access to more than 25 clinically-grounded continuing nursing education courses — including free, online, and self-paced options — developed and led by Emory’s world-class faculty. Courses are designed to help licensed nurses fulfill their requirements for license renewal, further their careers with varying certifications, and continue to provide high-quality patient care.

2HEAL and Emory InMOTION collected over 650 responses from RNs in Georgia on their learning needs around Social Determinants of Health (SDOH). In this learning module series, we address eight SDOH topics and the practical ways nurses can recognize and address them in their practice.

Exploring the Intersection of Climate Change, Pharmaceuticals, and Prescribers in Women's Health

There is a notable gap in the integration of climate change awareness and education into the training and practice of Women's Health Nurse Practitioners. As explored in this course, the gap hinders their ability to effectively recognize and address pregnancy-related complications exacerbated by environmental factors.

Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Center

Emory University’s Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Center (WOCNEC) provides both accredited post-baccalaureate programs and continuing education courses. The WOCNEC prepares graduate nurses to provide specialty care for patients with acute and chronic wounds, standard and continent ostomy diversions, and fecal and urinary incontinence.

Experiential Pathway Course — Wound 2.4

This self-study course is geared towards graduate nurses in the wound care specialty who are looking to obtain WOC Certification following the Experiential Pathway. Topics include skin anatomy and physiology as well as the assessment and management of acute, chronic, lower extremity, refractory, and other types of wounds.

Experiential Pathway Course — Ostomy 2.5

This asynchronous course is designed for graduate nurses in the ostomy care specialty who are looking to obtain WOC Certification following the Experiential Pathway. Topics include the assessment and management of urinary and fecal diversions as well as the surgical construction and marking of stomas.
