Women's Health
Nurses have always led the way in women’s health, knowing that well-being is shaped by more than biology. Our researchers build on that wisdom, creating knowledge that honors every woman’s story. Through collaborative scholarship, we transform care and influence policy — driving change in areas such as chronic stress, heart disease, maternal and perinatal well-being, HIV/AIDS, interpersonal violence, and sexual health.
Digital Tools, Life-Giving Support
Through research-based, culturally grounded mobile apps, Associate Professor Rasheeta Chandler creates spaces where women of color can learn, protect their health, and feel seen. Her research reveals urgent gaps in HIV prevention and confronts maternal mortality through tools like the PM3 App, which gives new mothers the support they need. From VR to AI, Chandler champions a future where women’s health is protected and uplifted.
