Program Overview
The Master of Nursing (MN) program allows students to earn a master in nursing degree in 15 months and is a great choice for those interested in nursing leadership. Our MN Pathway program option allows students to complete the MN portion of the program and continue into either the MSN or DNP degree program. Both program tracks are designed for students with bachelors degrees in other disciplines.

Curriculum
Fall Start Option
- Master of Nursing Program: Students enrolled in the MN Fall or Spring start programs will complete their 15-month generalist program which allows them to sit for the NCLEX to become an RN, or to apply to certain post-licensure programs.
Spring Start Option
- Master of Nursing Program: Students enrolled in the MN Fall or Spring start programs will complete their 15-month generalist program which allows them to sit for the NCLEX to become an RN, or to apply to certain post-licensure programs.
- Master of Nursing Pathway Program: Students complete the Master of Nursing program in 15 months, obtain your nursing license, and continue your nursing education in either our MSN or DNP program for the Fall. Please note that we are not able to provide I-20s for international students for the MSN/DNP portion of this program. We are only able to provide an I-20 for visa processing for the MN portion.
Summer Start Option

Plan of Study
All MN program start options are on-campus, full-time programs. Students will be immersed in the Emory Nursing culture, and will have classroom, simulation, and clinical instruction.

Admissions
Admissions Requirements
To be considered for admission to the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, you must submit the following items:
- Application for Admission
- $50 Application Fee
- Official transcripts from each school attended
- Students with international transcripts must provide an evaluation from World Education Services (www.wes.org).
- Resume
- TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores are required if English is a second language. Read Emory University's accepted tests policy here.
Please note that we can only accept coursework from regionally accredited colleges and universities.
Please review the Prerequisites tab to review prerequisite course requirements. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher by the start date of the program.
Admission decisions will be based upon candidate competitiveness as well as space availability. Applicants could potentially be placed on a waitlist. Decisions for waitlisted applicants are announced as seats become available, up to the first day of orientation.
Partner Program Students
Students currently on a path to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Oglethorpe University, and Spelman College should email our admission team about partnership program criteria for admission.
*Please note that all courses and degrees in the application checklist must be verified by the Office of Enrollment and Student Affairs before they are marked as received. Please allow 2-4 weeks after all transcripts are received.
Preferred method: Choose Emory University - School of Nursing in the electronic transcript systems or have your school email your official transcripts to nursingquestions@emory.edu.
If your school does not participate in the electronic transcript system or cannot email your transcripts then please have them mail a hard copy to:

Prerequisite Requirements
The MN program prerequisites include seven courses. You may submit an application for admission with the courses in progress, but all prerequisites must be complete with a grade of C or higher by program orientation.
All courses and degrees in the application checklist will be reviewed and verified by the Office of Enrollment and the School of Nursing registrar before they are marked as received.
The below list of prerequisite courses is for both Spring and Fall start applicants.
