Interdisciplinary Opportunities
Power of Partnership
Approximately a third of the school's research faculty come from outside nursing, paving the path for meaningful interdisciplinary partnerships. Associate Professor Sharon Sonenblum, a mechanical and biomechanical engineer, works with nurses, computer scientists, radiologists, and biomedical engineers to develop thermal imaging technology that detects pressure injuries before they become visible and severe.

The school is looking for a full-time postdoctoral trainee for an NIH-funded T32 training grant entitled “Women’s Health and Intersectionality Using Data Science and Health Information Technology”. The purpose of this T32 program is to prepare nurse scientists who have the skills to employ data science and/or health information technologies in order to advance health research using innovative methodological approaches. We are seeking a part-time faculty member to teach in our Master in Cardiovascular Perfusion Science program. This position will begin in the Fall semester 2026 and will be a 50%, 9 month position. The position involves face to face instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students’ performance in various clinical, skills laboratory, and simulation settings. Consequently the individual who is hired for the position must reside in commutable distance to the School of Nursing’s on the main Emory University campus as well as the Emory Nursing Learning Center in Decatur, Georgia.
