Strengthening Nursing Practice Around the World
The Lillian Carter Center’s Visiting Scholars Program offers a unique opportunity for global scholars to engage with our esteemed Emory Nursing community, collaborate on impactful research, and advance their academic and professional goals.
Our Mission
The Visiting Scholars Program emphasizes academic excellence, cultural exchange, and professional development. Our mission is for Visiting Scholars to expand their knowledge, foster innovative ideas, and contribute to groundbreaking research in a welcoming environment.
Global Scholars
Since the program’s inception in 2020, more than 30 scholars have visited from the following countries: China, South Korea, Belgium, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and Brazil.

Visiting Scholars have collaborated with renowned Emory Nursing faculty in the following research areas to date:

Fees and Requirements
- 6 months: $7,500
- 1 year: $15,000
In compliance with ISSS requirements, Visiting Scholars must demonstrate a minimum of $30,000 in funding for a 12-month period (or a prorated amount of $2,500 per month). This funding may come from one or multiple sources, including personal funds.
