Your Questions, Answered

Official transcripts and enrollment verifications include any degrees that have been awarded. Students can place an order before the end of the term for a transcript to be automatically generated once their degree is awarded by selecting “Hold for Degree” during the transcript ordering process.

Enrollment verifications should not be ordered until after degrees have been certified by schools and awarded by the Office of the University Registrar.

For electives at the 500 and 600 level, BSN prelicensure students must request a permission number by emailing nursingregistrar@emory.edu. A permission number will be provided, based on seat availability and the order in which requests are received.

Prelicensure students in the MN program must obtain a permission number for courses below the 500 level. If any course requires faculty permission to enroll, student must contact faculty for permission and then send the email of approval to nursingregistrar@emory.edu.

You can order your official paper and/or electronic transcript online through our Online Ordering Service.

An enrollment/degree verification provides proof of enrollment and/or degree for a student’s financial lender, insurance company, good student discounts, scholarship application, jury duty, etc.

Emory University contracts with the National Student Clearinghouse to serve as the University's authorized certifying school official for providing enrollment and degree verifications for third parties, current students, and alumni who attended/graduated from 1991 to current.

Change of Legal Name

Change of Information

To add a Diploma Name, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to OPUS
  2. Click on the Profile tile
  3. Click on the plus sign (+) under the Names section, enter the first and middle name ONLY, and Save. Note:
  4. The last name on the diploma must match the last name from the Primary/Legal Name.
  5. If editing, click on the Degree Name to update first and middle name ONLY and Save.

If you've added courses to your CART in OPUS but cannot register for them, it's likely because your enrollment appointment has not started yet, or there might be a hold on your account. You should first verify your enrollment appointment time in OPUS self-service. If your appointment has started, check for any enrollment errors by validating the courses in your shopping cart. If you are still unable to register, contact the School of Nursing Registrar Office or your program administrator for assistance.

There are several types of enrollment holds that may prevent you from registering. Below are the common holds and the steps to remove them.

Immunization Hold
Visit your Patient Portal to complete Emory’s immunization requirements. If you’re unable to access the portal, contact the Immunization Office at immunizations-shs@emory.edu or call (404) 727-8581.

Outstanding Account Balance
For questions about your student account or to resolve a balance, please email studentaccounts@emory.edu.

Specialty Director Hold
Reach out directly to your Specialty Program Director to request removal of the enrollment hold.

Transcript requests placed online through our Online Ordering Service
A document can be uploaded at the time of placing your order through our Online Ordering Service. Please do not upload incomplete attachments or documents that require Registrar completion. If you do have a document that the Registrar's Office should complete, please send it via email to transcripts@registrar.emory.edu before uploading it with your transcript order.

Transcript requests placed in writing
Every effort should be made to place your transcript request through our online ordering service (directions above). If you cannot do so, please contact the Registrar’s Office for alternate instruction, and email the document/attachment to transcripts@registrar.emory.edu. Regardless of order method, we must have proper authorization from the student/alumni requesting the release of the transcript.

All documents related to education verification and state board credentialing must be submitted using the Education Verification Request Form.

Please allow 3-5 business days for the processing of all requests. Should you have any inquiries, please contact nursingregistrar@emory.edu.

Please contact songraduation@nursing.emory.edu for questions regarding School of Nursing Diploma, Pinning and Awards Ceremony.

The best first step is to log into your Parchment account, then visit the Parchment Help Center, where you can find answers to frequently asked questions and articles to support your needs. From the Parchment Help Center, you can submit a web case for support or contact a Learner Support Representative for assistance. The Support Team is available M-F, 8am - 8pm ET at 844-214-3954.

If additional assistance is needed, please email us at transcripts@registrar.emory.edu.

Students should request transfer credits before starting their first semester in a program or at least one semester before enrolling in a required course. A student enrolled in a course prior to approval will be subject to the Drop/Add Policy and subsequent financial consequences. For additional questions, please contact your Program Director and submit the Transfer Credit Request Form.

If you submitted a Registrar Request Form with an error, please contact nursingregistrar@emory.edu to request cancellation of the form.

Once your original request has been cancelled, you may submit a new form.

Schedule changes can be made only during the add/drop/swap period via OPUS. Add/drop/swap dates are posted on the academic calendar.

Dropping a course during this period means no record of the registration will be noted on the student’s transcript. After the stated schedule change deadline, students wishing to leave the university or withdraw from a course must fill out a withdrawal form.

Any student who has requested a complete withdrawal from all courses in a semester or has an approved leave of absence from the School of Nursing for any reason for one (1) or more semester must apply for re-enrollment.

Any student who has requested a complete withdrawal and note do not plan to return, must apply for re-admission.

Emory will print the Diploma/Degree Name as listed in OPUS on the diploma. If a Diploma/Degree Name has not been created, the student’s Primary/Legal Name will appear on the diploma.

A student’s Legal Name or Diploma/Degree Name will appear on the diploma without additional titles, prefixes, or suffixes other than the customary indication of Jr., Sr., II, II, etc. Emory will not list prior degrees, certifications, titles, professional designations, or other credentials unrelated to the degree being granted.

For questions contact diploma@registrar.emory.edu.

Degrees will appear on transcripts after degrees have been certified by schools and awarded by the Office of the University Registrar.

Students can place an order before the end of the term for a transcript to be automatically generated once their degree is awarded by selecting "Hold for Degree" during the transcript ordering process.
