Their projects have revealed critical insights such as racial disparities in opioid administration among breast cancer patients, a cost value for nurse anesthetists, and factors predicting death for people with pressure ulcers, to name a few.

Faculty at Rutgers School of Nursing and the Emory Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing have integrated Project NeLL into their nursing informatics courses to help students develop core competencies of a nurse scientist. Through structured, case studies, Project Nell provides nursing students with opportunities to engage in inquiry, data-driven thinking, and scholarly problem-solving grounded in real-world nursing practice.
