Biostatistics & Data Management Core

Overview

The Biostatistics & Data Management Core is responsible for maximizing our research efficiency and excellence through “turn-key” solutions; robust data collection standards; high data quality; rigorous statistical analysis protocols; as well as data and code sharing procedures supporting reproducibility workflows.

Overview

Members of our statistical support team advise on the statistical aspects of proposals or current projects. We encourage researchers to consult a statistician early in the planning stage of a project -ideally at the grant preparation stage. For R-level awards, percentage effort for a PhD statistician is generally expected by the funding agency.

Functions:

1. Stats w/Proposal Study Design Analysis Reporting Reproducibility & Rigor

2. Teaches graduate courses on research methods and statistics

3. Provides statistical support for SON’s researchers through collaboration & consultation

4. Conducts methodological research applicable to behavioral and health sciences

5. General Guidelines on Statistical Collaboration-Consultation

6. Example of Authorship during Collaboration
