Message: I would like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to all the nurses in my life. My students, graduates and alumni, staff and faculty, my sweet and dearest cousin in Michigan and so many others. For those that care for infants, small children, young adults, and those in that delicate senior season of their lives, thank you. Thank you for taking care of us when we are at our most vulnerable. Thank you for caring for us when no one else can be there. Thank you for caring for us when we face addictions, adversity, abuse, and mental health challenges. There are so many scenarios in our lives that might involve the care of a nurse, far too many to name here, but for all the ways you heal, give hope, and share your love with others (mostly strangers), thank you. Forever grateful.

To: Jane Clark PhD, RN, AOCN
Message: I am very proud ‘91 graduate of NHWSN. My nursing career began as a staff nurse on 6G (Hematology/BMT) at Emory in 1988. Jane Clark was instrumental in encouraging me to apply for the graduate program. After I was accepted, Jane was my professor, mentor and the person I think of to this day when I make a grammatical error ;). Jane taught me to be a critical thinker, write well, value research, love and support our profession and the importance of focusing on our ultimate goal of providing optimal quality of care to our patients and families. She continues to share this message with nurses everywhere. She is truly one of a kind. Cheers to you, Jane! Thank you for all you have contributed to our profession.

Message: There are so many nurses who deserve to be saluted, but I will single out two of them. Rosie Smolenski Reynolds and Kristi Knop Stewart took care of my father during two hospital stays just before he passed away. Their professionalism and hard work -- and their care and warmth -- made such a difference to Dad and our entire family during a very difficult time, and I will never forget it. Thank you to them and all the amazing nurses out there!
