Entering the Workforce as a Nurse Leader
At the School of Nursing, we are dedicated to preparing competent nurse leaders who can seamlessly enter the nursing workforce. The goal of our Office of Career Services is to assist our students with career planning and job search preparation.
Our Services
- Offering guidance for resume and cover letter writing;
- Teaching effective job search and networking strategies;
- Demonstrating successful interviewing techniques;
- Conducting mock interview sessions; and
- Connecting with recruiters from across the country.

Events
Career Fair
Our Career Fair is a great opportunity to connect with recruiters from health care systems across the country. These organizations are looking for qualified Emory Nursing students and graduates for RN positions, APRN positions, and externships. Career Fairs are held each fall and spring semester.
Meet with Recruiters
We host Employer Information Sessions each semester with nurse recruiters from Emory Healthcare and other health care organizations. Our other strategic career programming includes resume workshops and mock interviews.
Job and Externship Postings
We list exclusive job and externship postings on Handshake, which you can access using your Emory University credentials. You can also visit the Liquid Compass job portal for patient care tech positions, residency programs, and even APRN positions.

The average starting salary is $75,000 (May 2025 graduates).
MSN Starting Salary
The average starting salary is $105,000 (December 2024 graduates).
DNP Starting Salary
The average starting salary is $125,000 (December 2024 graduates).
CRNA Starting Salary
The average starting salary is $230,000 (August 2025 graduates).
Perfusion Starting Salary
The average starting salary is $150,000 (May 2025 graduates).
