ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER INTEGRATED SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TRAINING PROGRAM (APP-ISTP)

The primary goals of this program are to:

  1. Advance fellows into autonomous clinicians with comprehensive and therapeutic knowledge in caring for people with substance use disorders.
  2. Position fellows to be prepared for the workforce for their desired career goals, especially in primary/care substance use disorder.

Required qualifications (students are not eligible):

  1. LCSW applicants must hold a MSN or higher in social work.
  2. Applicants must hold or be eligible for LCSW licensure in GA.
  3. Candidates must also present evidence of experience or interest in primary care and substance use disorders, leadership and practice.
  4. A minimum 3.0 GPA from accredited program.
  5. Willing to travel and stay overnight in cities where clinical sites are located.
  6. Willing to attend any live class or workshop (scheduled in advance).

All applicants must submit:

  1. An up-to-date CV/Resume.
  2. Two (2) letters of recommendation from persons knowing the applicant's passion for integrated care, mental health care, and substance use disorder.*NOTE: One of your recommendation letters must come from your clinical supervisor or academic mentor.
  3. A personal statement (no more than 1000 words that identifies the applicant's areas of interest in inter-professional team-based care, SUDs, and primary prevention; and outlines career goals to be achieved through the traineeship, and a proposed implementation plan, commitment/importance to SUD, community engagement and work in underserved areas.)
  4. Uploaded copy of transcripts.
  5. A letter of support from the employer stating approval for the applicant to complete program clinical requirements
