In the clinical setting, she provides opportunities for them to model effective communication when dealing with vaccine hesitant families. Teaching them to listen attentively and recognize the unique ethnic and cultural barriers impacting vaccine decisions. Teaching

I am passionate about sharing my clinical experience as I help guide pediatric nurse practitioner students. I have experience using evidence to guide practice and want to teach our learners to care for patients well. We have a shared goal, a positive learning experience throughout the program so that they can enter practice as a novice ready to care for families!

Research

Working on evidence-based practice initiatives, it is my goal to work toward decreasing caregiver vaccine hesitancy for all. I have cared for many children who experienced illness related to vaccine-preventable disease. It is my goal to deliver honest, science-based information regarding vaccines.
