About

Dr. Sharon Jackson White is an assistant professor (clinical track) at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. She completed a PhD in nursing at Georgia State University’s Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions (2020), a Master of Science in Nursing at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (2002), and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Troy (State) University (1993). Sharon Jackson White is a registered nurse, a certified family nurse practitioner, and a nurse scientist. Her teaching interests span nursing research, nursing theory, evidence-based practice, advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, quality, and advanced practice courses. Clinically, she has experience in the medical/surgical, hemodialysis, long-term care, primary care, and palliative care arenas. Her clinical work expands from direct patient care to administrative capacities. She serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine as well as a peer reviewer for several nursing and medical scholarly journals. Furthermore, she has spoken locally, nationally, and internationally related to her palliative care research. Dr. Sharon Jackson White's research interests are palliative care, end-of-life, quality of life, and nephrology.
