Emory Nursing Professional Development Center (ENPDC)

ANCC Accredited LogoThe Emory Nursing Professional Development Center (ENPDC) was developed in 2015 in partnership between Emory Healthcare Nursing Education and the Emory Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing to provide quality, continuing nursing education (CNE) activities that meet learner needs in the dynamic healthcare environment. In addition to providing our continuing education offerings, our nurse planners will work collaboratively with your staff  to plan, develop, and evaluate continuing education offerings and provide contact hours.

The Emory Nursing Professional Development Center (ENPDC) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education (CNE) by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers Commission on Accreditation

about the ENPDC

Nurse planners are available to serve on your planning committee for CNE activities. A Nurse Planner  must join the team in the early phase of planning. The nurse planner will work with your committee to develop a quality CNE activity and to assure adherence to ANCC guidelines. Contact us at ENPDC@emory.edu to request a planner and associated fees.

Contact hours can be provided for the following CNE activities:

  • Conferences
  • Workshops
  • Nursing Rounds
  • Single or Repeated Activities
Partner with a Nurse Planner

Contact hours are awarded to participants based on time spent with the learning experience and evaluation. The following rules for assigning contact hours apply:

  • 1 contact hour equals 60 minutes
  • The minimum activity length is 60 minutes
  • Contact hours are rounded down and to the nearest tenth or hundredth  – for example, a 2.758 hour event is awarded 2.75 or 2.7 not 2.8
  • Contact hours are awarded for the activity and evaluation – for example, an activity that is 45 minutes and evaluation of 15 minutes would be awarded 1 contact hour
