Master of Science in Health Care Analytics

Artificial intelligence (AI) and associated computational sciences (machine learning, natural language processing, cyber security, robotics, etc.) are fundamentally changing the health care landscape. Accompanying these changes are tremendous opportunities as well as profound ethical concerns and social impacts. To take advantage of these opportunities and address these challenges, a larger workforce is needed with the knowledge, skills and ability to effectively and efficiently analyze health care data.

Overview

Emory's interdisciplinary Master of Science in Health Care Analytics program combines healthcare knowledge, data science, and advanced analytical techniques to improve healthcare delivery, patient outcomes, and organizational efficiency. This 30-credit (3 semester) degree program will be offered entirely in an asynchronous online format, with students starting in the Fall or Spring semester.

Overview:

  • 30-credit, 3 semester program
  • Asynchronous, online format
  • For those enrolled full-time, the program can be completed in one-year.
  • The part-time plan of study will be available soon.

The program comprises courses concentrated in two areas, followed by a capstone project.

Health Care Core: 12 credits
Methods and Tools: 12 credits
Capstone: 6 credits

At the end of this program, graduates will be able to:

  • Deploy advanced data interpretation skills
  • Derive insights from complex healthcare datasets
  • Understand healthcare technology and informatics
  • Demonstrate proficiency inuse of analytical tools and techniques
  • Evidence of strategic decision-making capabilities
