Imelda Reyes is dual certified as a Pediatric and Family Nurse Practitioner. She has held clinical roles at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory Healthcare, and Navy Healthcare. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Emory’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing since 2012 and pediatric nurse practitioner with CHOA. She also served as a Medical Service Corps officer in the US Navy from 2001-2006, where her last position was as the Chief Financial Officer at Naval Hospital Cherry Point, North Carolina.

Areas of Expertise




Imelda's clinical research focus is in the area of identifying and managing overweight and obesity in children and the parental perception of weight and health of children. Her expertise lies in pediatrics and adolescent healthcare and another area of interest includes reproductive healthcare of teenagers. She has worked primarily with the underserved populations and is fluent in Spanish.
