Cafe 458
What makes this Café special is not that it will just serve a great brunch, but that brunch will serve the cafe. You see, during the week this little Café offers free lunches for homeless people who choose to take significant steps towards independence and dignity. More importantly, the Café will help fund all of Samaritan House of Atlanta's dynamic programs that assist the homeless such as the Oakhurst Recovery Program and the EDGE (daytime support to help the homeless find fulltime employment).
It is fitting a Café that offers nurturing and healing would be opening its arms to a community known for its kindness and generosity. The wait staff has volunteered to donate all tips to support the Samaritan House programs, so you can guarantee the service will be top notch.

Gateway 24/7 Homeless Services Center
"The Gateway Center is the centerpiece of the Regional Commission on Homeslessness' effort to impact chronic homelessness. The Gateway Center is the point of entry - the gateway - to the community's continuum of care created to help homelesss individuals move out of dependency. The Gateway Center will offer homeless individuals an opportunity to disconnect from the issues that contributed to their homelessness by connecting them with the specific services they need to move toward self-sufficiency.
The vision for the Gateway Center is to become a place of hope and new beginning, where homeless persons engage the journey that leads them to autonomous living. Ultimately, the vision of the Gateway Center is to help eliminate chronic homelessness in our community."

Medshare International
MedShare International is a nonprofit organization headquartered in metro Atlanta, with an environmental and humanitarian impact of international scope.
Starting point: Hospitals agree to donate surplus medical supplies and equipment. Collection barrels are provided; hospital staff are educated on appropriate materials for recovery. Materials are collected routinely from each site, and then are identified and evaluated. Volunteers sort and repack materials. Staff enters descriptive information into the inventory database. Approved recipient hospitals "order" what they need. The contents of each container are tailored to meet the "needs list" of the recipient organization. Completing the circle, containers are shipped to recipient hospitals. There is follow up and accountability to ensure they arrive on time, undamaged, and are put to good use. Our shipments of medical supplies and equipment have brought healing and the promise of better lives to 87 countries and countless patients.
