
Welcome to the Center for Research on Symptoms,
Symptom Interactions, and Health Outcomes, one of nine exploratory
nursing research centers funded by the National
Institutes of Health, National Institute for Nursing
research. The purpose of the Center is to facilitate symptom-related research,
including the development and testing of interventions
designed to reduce negative symptomatology and improve health outcomes in clinical
populations.
The Center
provides a number of resources to faculty and students
including psychometric and scoring information for
instruments commonly used to measure symptoms and symptom-related outcomes, a
Teleform scanner and
other equipment to facilitate research, and an
interdisciplinary advisory board to provide scientific
guidance. Center staff include
an administrative assistant, a statistician, and a data
