Evans Center for Caring Skills
Protocol for Submitting Simulation Proposals
The Mission of the Evans Center for Caring Skills is to promote optimal patient care and safety through the use of simulation technology and other experiential teaching strategies for nursing students, medical students and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. To that end, parties interested in proposing simulation workshops to take place at the Evans Center for Caring Skills must clearly state the purpose of the workshop in relation to the Center’s mission. Proposal reviews will be based upon the feasibility of the workshop in terms of the benefits to the School of Nursing and School of Medicine students, faculty and curriculum.
Proposals may be of the following nature:
- Education of the NHWSON and the Emory University School of Medicine students and faculty
- Research
- Continuing Education
To Submit a Proposal:
- Submit idea for proposal to education director and schedule a planning meeting (email Barbara Kaplan)
- Interested party will meet with education director to complete the following:
- Evans Center for Caring Skills Simulation Proposal Guide
- Fee Structure for Simulation in the Evans Center for Caring Skills
- Evans Center Advisory Committee will review proposal and provide written follow-up within 2 weeks of submission
Financial Considerations will be based upon the Fee Structure for Simulation in the Evans Center for Caring Skills. The financial director of the Evans Center will deal directly with the financial officer of the organization if additional financial negotiations are required.
