Setting up a Dell PowerEdge  Make sure the network cables are not connected before turning on server. Configure RAID array. If server has 8 hard drives then configure drives 0 and 1 as RAID 1 (mirrored). Configure the remaining 6 hard drives as RAID 5 (striped w/ parity). Use the /e switch to copy NTFS permission settings. Usage: robocopy \\servername1\sharename \\servername2\sharename /e /copyall Create shared folders with the same names as those on the old server. Create shared network printers with the same names as those on the old server. Swap IP addresses with old server. Swap computer name with old server.
