1. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer.
2. Right-click on the hard disk (usually drive C:) and select Properties.
3. Select the Tools tab.
4. Click the ‘Defragment Now’ button and the disk defragmenter program will open.
5. Click the Defragment button and your hard disk will be on its way to a happier life :-)
6. Depending on the size of the hard disk and how badly fragmented it is the process could take hours.
