The Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University (http://www.nursing.emory.edu) is seeking candidates for the position of Professor. Appointment to the rank of tenured Professor requires nationally and/or internationally significant, continuous, and progressive contributions to the candidate’s field and to research, teaching in service in the field of nursing over a number of years. A doctoral degree and, if the faculty member is a nurse, an active license to practice nursing in the State of Georgia are also required. Professional and/or board clinical specialty certification is also seen as critical criteria for those teaching in programs preparing students for such credentialing.
RN Applicants are required to hold a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing, have experience as a skilled practitioner, possess teaching experience and an active license to practice nursing in the State of Georgia upon the date of hire. Advanced Practice Nurses will also need professional credentialing and appropriate licensure in accordance with the rules of the Georgia Board of Nursing upon the date of hire.
Full Professors provide leadership for the School’s programs and serve as role models and mentors for less senior faculty and students. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a strong commitment to scholarship and research and will have an established record of extramurally funded research.
