The Master’s degree in Women’s Health is designed for certified women’s health care nurse practitioner graduates of accredited Title X programs. The program awards 12 semester hours of advanced placement credit in recognition of previous education and experience. The focus of the curriculum is on the theoretical, conceptual, and scientific underpinnings of advanced practice.
Associate degree and diploma-prepared nurses complete 24 semester hours of RN-MSN bridge course work prior to beginning the specialty curriculum. For students with a BSN, the program can be completed in two semesters of full-time study. Part-time study is also available.
In order to pursue the program, students must fulfill the following requirements:
- meet the established criteria for admission to the RN-MSN or MSN program
- be a graduate of a Title X program accredited by either the ANA, NANPRH, or NPWH
- have NCC Certification as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner
- be currently practicing in women’s health care.
