The master’s degree
in Women’s Health is designed for certified women’s health care nurse
practitioner graduates of accredited Title X programs. The program
awards 12 semester hours of advanced placement credit in recognition
of previous education and experience. The focus of the curriculum is
on the theoretical, conceptual, and scientific underpinnings of
advanced practice.
Associate degree and diploma-prepared nurses complete 24 semester
hours of RN-MSN bridge course work prior to beginning the specialty
curriculum. For students with a BSN, the program can be completed in
two semesters of full-time study. Part-time study is also available. . . . <Program of Study>

These students generally continue to practice as Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners at their place of
employment and do not have supervised clinical experience within their graduate studies.
The focus of the
curriculum is on the theoretical, conceptual, and scientific underpinnings of advanced practice.
Special program for Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners that have completed a certificate nurse
practitioner program.
Graduate student is awarded 12 semester hours of graduate credit in recognition of previous education and
experience.
Opportunity to receive a master’s degree with reduced commitment of both time and money.
Most of the graduates continue to work as Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners with opportunities to
advance to leadership positions within their work place (e.g. advance to District Director for Women’s
Health within the Public Health System).
