Women's Health/Adult Health Nurse Practitioner

Program Description

The Women’s Health/Adult Nurse Practitioner program prepares nurses to provide healthcare to both men and women from adolescence to old age.  It also allows you to meet the comprehensive specialty needs of women, including both reproductive and menopausal needs. The dual certification as both a WHNP and ANP provides a broad mix of clinical skills that will address a diverse array of healthcare needs of both men and women. This education is based on in-depth knowledge of theory, pathophysiology, research utilization and clinical decision-making skills.  Opportunities for diverse clinical experiences are available in a variety of both primary healthcare and specialty settings

Key features of this 52 hour graduate program include:

·          Clinical sites in both rural and urban areas and the opportunity to work with a diverse group of patients.

·          Opportunities to work in both generalized primary care as well as specialty and sub-specialty practices.

·          A curriculum with a strong emphasis on health promotion, genetics, reproductive healthcare, chronic disease management and gender-specific health problems.
