Master of Science in Nursing
RN-MSN Program
Prerequisite General Education Courses
Students applying for the RN-MSN program must have
completed 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of
prerequisite general education course work at the
undergraduate level, including the following 13 courses:
- General or Organic Chemistry (some Nutrition or
Introductory Biochemistry courses may substitute for
Organic Chemistry)
- Human Anatomy
- Human Physiology
- Microbiology
- Three Humanities Courses
- Four Social Science Courses (two must be from the
following: Introductory Psychology, Introductory
Sociology, Human Growth and Development, and
Anthropology)
- English Composition
- Statistics (may be taken prior to beginning the
program or as an elective during the Bridge year).
Transfer Credit
A maximum of 12 semester hours of post-baccalaureate
academic courses from an accredited school may be
transferred and will be credited toward meeting the MSN
degree requirements. Selected courses may be challenged
at the discretion of course faculty and at a charge of
$100 per examination.
