Post-Master's Option

The School of Nursing offers several options for
Post-Master's study. These programs allow master's-prepared nurses to pursue advanced education,
additional specialization and to prepare for
certification in selected areas.
The specific program of study is developed by the
member of the School of Nursing faculty responsible for
coordinating the area of specialty. The program may
include course work to re-establish a base of knowledge
in a particular area as well as courses in advanced
practice not included in the applicant's original degree
program.
Post-Master's Admission Procedures and Requirements
All applicants are considered on an individual basis.
Applications and supporting credentials should be
submitted as early as possible in the academic year
prior to entrance; however, applications will be
reviewed as long as class space is available.
The School of Nursing selects those applicants who
are best qualified academically and personally. After
all application materials are received, the Admission
Committee reviews the applicant's
credentials and makes the decision to accept, or
deny admission. Final acceptance
is contingent upon satisfactory completion of
prerequisites. A final transcript must be submitted
prior to matriculation. Following notice of acceptance,
a nonrefundable deposit of $250 is required. This serves
as confirmation of intent to enroll, and it will apply
to the first semester's tuition.
Registered nurses with master's degrees in clinical
specialties may enroll in Post-Master's course work.
