The Emergency Nurse Practitioner program prepares nurses to provide
health care in emergency settings-evaluating, managing, treating and
preventing unexpected illness and injury. In addition, graduates are
prepared to provide health care to patients presenting to emergency

Interdisciplinary learning experiences with medical students, physician assistants, and emergency residents
Specific courses focused on learning to perform clinical procedures
State-of-the-art clinical skills laboratory
Clinical experiences in a Level I Regional Trauma Center
Timely classroom instruction including topics such as forensic issues in emergency settings, disaster preparedness and responses to bioterrorism
Multiple opportunities for graduates exist in emergency
departments and urgent care centers. Certification is available as
Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Nursing Credentialing
Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Primary and secondary prevention of STD and HIV for women and adolescents. Primary and secondary adolescent pregnancy prevention.
