Based on the individually-identified learning needs and interests, students are placed in either ambulatory or inpatient sites where patients with an oncologic diagnosis are being treated.

Practitioners in these centers provide care that is evidence-based, are they are participating in clinical trials, or both.

  • Make a critical difference in the lives of patients with an oncologic diagnosis and their families as an advanced practitioner.
  • Implement the advanced practice nursing role based on the latest evidence in the specialty of Oncology.
  • Care for patients during some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Opportunities for Graduates

Graduates of the Oncology program assume many of the multifaceted roles as Nurse Practitioners in any of a variety of inpatient or ambulatory oncology units, as well as a member of the team of a private medical practice.
