Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Nursing Curriculum for BSN, BSN Second Degree Students,
and the BSN/MSN Segue Option.

BSN, BSN Second Degree and BSN/MSN Segue students must begin full-time study in the fall semester. The curriculum listed below represents the program of study for the of the BSN program.  BSN/MSN students continue into their graduate specialty in the fall semester following the completion of the BSN portion.

The summer in between the first and second years of the program is an excellent time for students to gain further experience at a summer internship or take advantage of a special Acute Critical Care course taught here at the School of Nursing.
The curriculum and nursing education distinguishes itself in a number of ways:
  • Integrated Science I and II incorporates pathophysiology, pharmacology, and nutrition into an interdisciplinary study based on a cause-cure-prevention model of disease
  • Human Genetics explores the future implications for healthcare as more data on genetics emerges
  • The School of Nursing is affiliated with over 200 clinical sites in the metro Atlanta area, providing opportunities for diverse experiences
  • The School of Nursing also has a number of opportunities in which students can gain clinical experience internationally.  Students have recently traveled to Haiti and Cuba.
Course descriptions can be found in the the Emory University School of Nursing Nursing Course Catalog.
