Call for Papers
The Barbados
Registered Nurses Association [BRNA],
in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization /
World Health Organization Caribbean Program Coordination
Office [PAHO/WHO CPC] and the Ministry of Health,
Barbados, is pleased to announce the 2004 International
Nurses Conference to be held in beautiful, sunny Barbados,
West Indies. The Conference site is situated close to the
center of Bridgetown, our capital city. It provides
opportunities to interact in a variety of educational,
cultural and social activities.
Aims
The conference aims to:

Share best practice in
Nursing
-
Examine the relevance
of nursing in Health Care delivery.

Reaffirm the value and
contribution of Nursing
to health
care.
Objectives
The objectives of the conference are to:

Encourage and foster sharing, collaboration
and learning.

Bring together nurses from diverse clinical
and academic settings from around the world.

Facilitate sharing of innovative best
practices in nursing education and clinical practice
(in the context of Managed Migration).

Reaffirm the relevance, value and
contribution of nurses to
health care.
Activities
The conference will
include keynote addresses, papers, panel discussions,
concurrent and plenary sessions, meetings and a lively
social program which will stimulate networking and
discussion on all aspects of nursing in the 21st
Century.

Criteria
for abstract selection
The Abstracts should:
-
Be
related to innovative management, leadership and policy
initiatives and promote best practices in nursing education
and clinical practice.
-
Specify how the paper will contribute to the
development of knowledge and practice within nursing,
midwifery and community nursing.
-
Specify
the focus of the presentation.
-
Indicate the sample size and sampling method
used.
-
Be limited to 250 words.
-
Not
contain any information about the presenter/s.
Modes of
Presentation
Presenters
must identify the type of presentation they wish to make and
any audio or visual aids required.
The options are:
1.
Concurrent Sessions
Concurrent sessions
papers are presented orally. Each presenter is allocated 15
minutes for presentation followed by discussion.
2.
Poster Presentation
Poster Presentations
are visual displays of material to be presented and are
exhibited throughout the duration of the conference. Poster
presentations constitute an interactive medium and are best
suited to the presentation of factual data.
