RN-MSN Bridge
The RN-MSN option provides an opportunity for associate degree and diploma-prepared nurses to obtain the MSN. The curriculum is characterized by flexibility and recognizing the diversity of the students who enroll. The RN-MSN applicant must be a graduate of a state board accredited, regionally accredited, National League for Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accredited program. In addition they must have completed 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of required general education course work prior to enrollment. Students accepted to this program complete 17 semester hours of bridge course work prior to beginning the specialty curriculum. Full time and part time study are available.
RN-MSN applicants are admitted to one of the following MSN specialties:
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner
Emergency Nurse Practitioner
Family Nurse Practitioner
Family Nurse-Midwife
Health Systems Leadership
Nurse-Midwifery
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care
Women's Health/Adult Health Nurse Practitioner
Women's Health Nurse Practitioner
Women's Health Care (Title X)
Full-time Program of Study, 17 credit hours
Semester 1, Fall, 8 Credit Hours
*NRSG 380 Health Assessment (3 hours)
*NRSG 410 Professional Practice (Fall only)(5 hours)
Semester 2, Spring, 9 Credit Hours
NRSG 412 Contemporary Issues(Spring only) (4 hours)
NRSG 420 Community Health(Spring only) (5 hours)
*NRSG 380 and NRSG 410 are prerequisites
After two semesters you will begin your specialty program part-time in the spring or full-time in the fall.

Physical Sciences - 4 courses
General or Organic Chemistry (upon approval Introductory Biochemistry courses may substitute for Organic Chemistry)
Human Anatomy and Physiology I
Human Anatomy and Physiology II
Microbiology
Math – 1 course
Introductory Statistics (may be taken during the bridge year)
Social Sciences – 4 courses – 2 from the following list and 2 additional

Humanities – 4 courses
English Composition

Electives
Additional courses to total 60 semester or 90 quarter hours. Credit for physical education, applied art, music or theatre is not applicable in meeting the general education elective requirements. All courses are subject to review by the Office of Admission and Student Services.
