Susan Bauer-Wu, PhD, RN, FAAN
Associate Professor of Nursing and Georgia Cancer Center Coalition Distinguished Scholar

“Emory nursing students are distinctive because they have a strong sense of social responsibility in addition to having the desire and qualities to be leaders in health care. At the heart of being an outstanding nurse is learning to be authentic and fully present while providing care. Not only will you be more astute in your assessments and provide safer care, you will really listen to the patient and connect with him or her as another human being who has life stories beyond the diagnosis.”
